REVIEW 1 (28 Jan 2023)
"I was a student at Maru a Pula and love this collection of stories.
It really captures the essence of life in Botswana during a very formative time for the young country and a region in the middle of considerable change.
Earnestness, innocence and also tragedy were the backdrop during those times. Students, teachers and even the current president of Botswana (an alum himself) have contributed to this magnificent book.
I was fortunate to have been taught by three of the principals of the school - Deane Yates, Andy Taylor and David Matthews. It was a remarkable time and they helped me on my road to further study in the United States. The impact they both had on me in two completely different ways stood by me my entire life after leaving MaP. One was a remarkably talented actor and historian, another a formidable Latin teacher and the other the best mathematics teacher I have ever had. It is so nice to relive the positive memories through the writings in the book. Thank you all for pushing so hard to make it happen."
Ajay Shah, former Silicon Valley executive at Facebook(Meta), Netflix, Oracle, Google. Currently - Full-time Dad, part-time surfer.
REVIEW 2 (2 Feb 2023)
"Memories of MaP is truly a valuable book to read and just have lying around on your coffee table. It provides many great memories of the past, as it shares the perspectives of students of different generations, but also those of the teachers we had.
Going through it I was fascinated how the stories revealed rather similar experiences (overcoming shyness, making sense of the world), but also how we sometimes saw the same time at Maru-a-Pula so differently. And nice to see the different places we ended up in."
Very insightful and entertaining, and definitely recommend all alumni as well as current high school heads, teachers, parents and students to get a copy."

REVIEW 3 (9 Feb 2024)
"On the eve of MaP's 52nd anniversary, I just wanted to appreciate again this incredibly unique literary work. It's a joy to read (and re-read) the wonderful memories forever captured in this book. I got my copy sometime last year and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you."
